It is purposely light on the maths side for example, I would have appreciated some detail on fundamental items such as the Wave Equation, Bohr’s model of the atom, Schroedinger Equation, wave phase invariance etc.
Pagels states that his is a divulgative book, nothing innovative if you look at the content, though the exposition of arguments results rigorous and fluent. Codmic is a great book which explains fully.

However, it is accessible to a neophyte, and yet, I think it does not do a terrible disservice to physics. Bell’s Theorem forever demolishes the Einsteinian views of of local hidden variable determinism. But I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Pagels in his shortened professional life taught and mentored Seth Cosmiic who has certainly continued to carry the baton in “quantum computation” to this day.
And boy, that Steven Weinberg sure sounds like a fun date the only things truly “pointless and meaningless” were his quotes. I can surely recommend this lecture to anyone who wants a solid I repeat non-mathematical understanding of modern physics, quantum theory in its main aspects.

And I really liked the author’s sense of humor in dealing with the physicist’s concept of nothing at all – the vacuum please see my reading update for this book and different ‘interpretation offers’ of quantum mechanics in the busy “Reality Marketplace”.
